Farr Yacht Design and Infiniti Performance Yachts are pleased to present this conceptual package for a 56’ +/- high performance blue water cruiser.  The cruising boat market is lacking offerings that combine both sleek modern styling with the latest in high tech construction methods and design technology. The performance advantages that have been developed and refined in the grand-prix racing world promise to be equally revolutionary to the cruising sailor and we are excited to redefine blue-water cruising with the Infiniti 56C.

In the quest to offer our clients the best performance we continue to invest heavily in the design and development of advanced performance technologies.  We are entering the age of foil-assisted sailing. While foiling multihulls have received much attention, we feel the potential performance advancements through the use of foils on monohulls is equally dramatic and primed for widespread adoption. FYD has entered into a technical and development partnership agreement with Dynamic Stability Systems and is in a unique position to provide fully-developed DSS-based solutions to our clients.

 The Infiniti 56 is a true high performance blue-water cruiser. It features a modern low drag hull form coupled with a modern deck saloon that seamlessly integrates the well-appointed interior with the cockpit sailing and entertaining spaces. As presently envisioned, the boat utilizes a lifting keel to allow for a deep center of gravity and light displacement when under sail but reduced draft for easy access to port. The boat features twin rudders to allow for excellent controllability in all conditions. Unique for a yacht of this style is the electrically actuated single transverse DSS foil that provides both significant stability and reduced displacement.

 The Infiniti 56 will set a new paradigm for performance in this size range with the potential to sail at higher speeds and at lower heel angles than anything else in class, while featuring improved sea keeping and simplified sail handling.

This concept has been developed from the ground up to maximize the benefits of the DSS system. It promises to provide unrivaled performance across a broad range of conditions; able to perform well inshore and excel in offshore conditions and ocean passage making.
