Designer’s Notes
This is a classic yacht designed to give enjoyable sailing in all conditions with the potential of really stretching out to windward and 'skating' downwind when the crew or situation demands. These factors have been developed with economy and simplicity in equipment and handling in mind and the requirement of a comfortable but limited internal arrangement in our original commission gives a very straightforward boat. The design extends the principles established with our 11.6m (Design No. 72) and takes no account of any rating rules. She is easily handled by a small crew, motors in style when the need arises, and makes swift passages between anchorages. The rig incorporates a twin swept spreader arrangement, although the sweep is limited, with running backstays included to give better mast control and higher performance to windward. The interior is straightforward with generous saloon, galley and chart areas, a head and storage forward, and a large private cabin with head and shower facilities, double berth, and settee. There is ample scope for variations however, to suite individual owners' needs.
