FARR 43, 13m IRC Cruiser/Racer

Racing Yacht | IRC | 2018
FARR 43 racing yacht

This design embodies Farr Yacht Design’s deep understanding of the IRC rule space, and our many years producing high level grand-prix and production racer and cruiser designs. The concept is positioned to provide exceptional performance in a wide range of conditions; able to perform in both the toughest offshore races and weekend club races and rewarding to sail by both Corinthian crews and professionals. While designed to achieve an exceptional IRC rating the boat is envisioned as an excellent all-purpose boat, able to perform under a range of handicap and rating systems including ORCi, PHRF and others. At 43’ the boat has been sized to fit within the burgeoning Super 12 Class in Australia to maximize racing opportunities. Many of the larger manufacturers have adjusted their focus to pure cruising and charter solutions meaning there have been very few high performance cruiser/racers developed in recent years. Many of our existing cruiser/racer designs have continued to perform well and place in major events around the world but there are very limited options for these owners to move up into. These owners are looking for a new boat that retains the dual purpose cruising and racing concept but takes advantage of the significant advancements in design and construction that have occurred in recent years.
